Replica utility tool, reverse engineered from knives obtained through salvage expeditions on Tau Ceti IV.  Certain features and markings are still being analyzed to determine their purpose.
 
Curiously, a matching sheath has yet to be discovered.  In the interim, Starside Armory has designed a sheath with the following features:
Auto retention spring - draw or securely stow knife with a single motion
Swiveling edge clip - attach on belt up to 1.5" wide; effortlessly select left/right configurations
Zip-tie slots - Five anchor points provide additional attachment options
Attempted aesthetic congruity
 
To avoid red tape when shipping to inner worlds and to keep costs down, blade edge is unsharpened.  A 40 degree starting bevel on each side is provided.  This uncommon angle is attributed to the source object; forensic analysis theorizes that this shallow wedge shape prioritized strength and durability when prying open dilapidated containers.
