SOCKET OVERVIEW
ChemicalMate sockets are the triangular spaces in which chips can be inserted. Some socket products include alternate terminology - for example, a "SnackRack" consists of three sockets in a basic keychain format. Other names for socket types include "setting", "fixture", and "holder".
SOCKET OPERATION
Some sockets have specific controls. Please see the appropriate section below for details.
CHIP INSERTION/REMOVAL
Any chip can be inserted in any socket without tools.
To insert a chip, insert the long edge of a chip into the long edge of a socket, then apply pressure to the opposite corner to fully seat the chip.
To remove a chip, apply pressure to one corner on the backside and push the chip out of the socket.
Remember, a corner is always easier to remove than a long edge.

ENERGIZER SOCKETS
Some ChemicalMate varieties can be enhanced with photonic radiation. Energizer sockets emit chromatic energy, which can boost the effects (and aesthetics) of compatible chips.



Compatible chips have varying degrees of transparency, allowing certain energy frequencies to permeate the compound matrix. Matching colors generally yields the brightest results, but some combinations can produce neat effects.

The CE1 single chip Energizer supports multiple carrying methods:

Slide the power switch towards the triangular socket to turn the LED on. On the single chip Energizer, the power switch looks like it should move at an angle, but it actually moves straight up and down, parallel to the keychain strap.
If the LED does not turn on right away, the battery may have been accidentally drained. Plug it in and look for a red light behind the color cycle button to verify that it's charging.
KEYCHAIN SOCKETS
Keychain sockets feature a 1" wide hook-and-loop strap and triangular carabiner.

SURFACE MOUNT SOCKETS (POLYNODE)
Surface mount sockets use nuts, bolts, and a backer to firmly attach to fabric or flat surfaces. Installation typically involves making at least one hole in the host surface (clever applications can sometimes avoid this, like installing on a fabric edge). These sockets can also slot into molle webbing.

PENDANT SOCKETS
Pendant sockets come with a cord for wearing around the neck.

ChemicalMate is a line of consumables for cyborgs that provide beneficial effects in cybernetic bodies. Each triangular "chip" contains chemical compounds specially formulated for maintenance, repair, and/or performance, as well as bulk glucose and administrative micromachines.
A variety of socket styles are available, all of which are compatible with all chips. Mix, match, and store your preferred chips in fixtures like a two-sided pendant, an illuminated broach, or a three-pack keychain.
Cyborg rations are only compatible with specific archetypes of fully cybernetic digestive systems and are extremely toxic to organic systems. Consult your cybernetics specialist to see if ChemicalMate products are right for your shell.
Handling and storage is generally safe so long as chemical reaction has not begun. Many unmodified humans with cybernetic aspirations enjoy collecting and displaying ChemicalMate products.
